questions about a few products
ok so i bought a can of seafoam because i start hearing a slight ticking from the engine, i used synthetic oil before and its now 3k since the last oil change. im gonna change it again but i already put half the seafoam in the crankcase and half in the gas tank. so question has anyone used this in the crankcase for their monte? and how well did it work? Also last oil change i used mobile 1 synthetic oil, this time i used mobile 1 synthetic oil extended formula, it promised to last 15k (even though the max i would do is 5k) and there was something else i forgot. i also got a from ultra filter meant for synthetic oil. so does anyone use that type of oil that i switched to? OOOO and also what would happen if i put half a bottle of seafoam in the transmission?

I don't use extended mileage Mobil 1, but I use Mobil 1 Syn and I do extend the mileage. I don't drive much anyways, but I only change it once a year. It's always very clean. I've used Seafoam in the crankcase, but not for more than a week, then I do the oil change. I don't entirely trust the product. I don't want my oil to be combustible - that one of the points of using synthetic.
Seafoam has another product for transmissions. I wouldn't use the motor treatment in there

The only thing I have to add is I would never put a Fram filter on any vehicle I own. I have seen more engine failures with a Fram filter on it then any other brand. And 'designed for synthetic oil'? Pure marketing BS. Your filter has no idea whether the oil is dino or synthetic.
Seafoam can be used as a 'motor flush' prior to your oil change. Run it in the crankcase for a couple hundred miles then change the oil.

I would not use any type of motor flush. There are parts that r pre-lubed during assembly and the degreasing agents of a motor flush could damage those. Just my thoughts and 2 cents.
