Default Question about my 1984 Monte Carlo

I bought a 1984 Monte Carlo from a couple who lived in a trailer park as advertised on craigslist for $1200, brought it home. A couple weeks later a friend saw it, and asked if it was an SS and i said no, and he said he asked because he it has the wing on the trunk like the SS's do, and that got me wondering and i looked up base models of Monte Carlos and i couldnt really find one with a wing on google, its not the greatest picture but its dark out now so i couldnt get a good one right now

Someone added the wing. Not very hard to do just drilling some holes.

Like NightHawk said, run the VIN number and you will know everything you need about that 4th Gen

When it was bought new it could've been special ordered with the spoiler. Someone could've added it on later. Like the guy said above, it's easy to put those spoilers on. Just drill some holes. I can tell by looking at it that it's not an SS.

it's not an ss, it is an sc, ss's didn't have the crome running along the botom of the car,

also you have the laydown style spoiler those came out in 86-87 on the aerocoup ss and i think some ss's so wasn't a factory option
if i remember right....

some one could have put it on there or replaced the trunk with one from a 86-87 ss

If it a SS the 8th digit in the VIN is a "G" if not it will be "H" or "Z"
H= NON SS V8
Z= NON SS V6
