Pls Tell Me WTF Is Going On With My Monte!
90,000 Miles.
Maintained like spoiled only child.
New Fluid and Flush AAMCO 98,500
My Tranny is acting up. When I get-in and start the car and get ready to back-out of the driveway ... it SEEMS like there's a momentary hesitation before the tranny starts to move the car.
Back-out stop and shift into drive.
There is an audible "Clunk" and I can definitely FEEL the car shift into Drive.
As I proceed down the road ... in the city ... going slow ... I FEEL the shifts as the Monte drives along with me on our merry way.
The Harshness is NEW.
I want to get whatever needs to get done ... done before this gets out of hand.
Who knows what this issue is and whats causing it?
My CEL is on for a O-2 Sensor I haven't got fixed yet.
As always ... thanks in advance for helping me out.

Get the codes re-read- I bet there's one for the transmission pressure control solenoid.
This is a common failure on GM front wheel drives with the 4T65E.
When the solenoid fails, the transmission commands maximum line pressure for all shifts, meaning it shifts HARD. If you get the solenoid replaced ASAP nothing else will be damaged. Make sure you take it to a reputable shop- many will tell you you need a whole new transmission, when in reality your problems can be fixed by a $30 part.
Good luck. Let us know what happens.

Mine is doing the same thing, exactly as OP described it.
appreciated.

I've had the PCS code for years now lol
But yeah, you may want to see if getting your O2 sensor changed will help.
Go ahead and start saving for a new transmission though...
