3-SPEED TURBO HYDRA-MATIC 350 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Commonly referred to as a Turbo 350, this transmission had either a short or long tail shaft. This one is a short tail shaft.
CHEVROLET 350 CUBIC INCH OHV V-8
For 1976, two 350 options were available... the 145-horse 350 with a 2-barrel Rochester carburetor and the 165-horse 350 with a 4-barrel Quadra-Jet carburetor. Pictured is the 145-horse 350 2-barrel. The torque rating for this engine was 250 foot pounds.
While this may not be the factory engine from my Monte Carlo, this is exactly what the old engine looked like, minus the "bling" and air cleaner.
