Default pcm questions

I am thinking about getting an aftermarket pcm. What are the options that I should get added because I saw different options with the gearing and the car is a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo ss 3.8 non supercharged. The only aftermarket part I have is a cold air intake.

Are you going to do any additional modifications? If so, do not order this yet.

What options do you need to know?

You have 3.29 gearing on your transmission.

I think the only other thing I was going to fo was have the resonator deleted and maybe some type of aftermarket exhaust.

So nothing else that would require a tuning change?

Then go for it and order

Don't waste your money removing the resonator

Get headers and a basic PCM tune

X2, headers first

Can get a set of Speed Daddy's for $200 or less shipped on eBay.

A u-bend delete and headers would be decent. The u-bend is really restrictive of air flow.

Headers and downpipe = $400-500

I would skip the PCM and get a tuner.

HPT isn't hard to use and you can make adjustments whenever you want rather than having to pay every time you need a new box tune'd pcm.
