A big thing in our cars is the box. On a budget, it's going to be hard to get loud sound and good sound in the same sub.

I have a single 10" Alpine Type-R that people constantly think is 2-12's. That comes with the ported box built to specs of the subwoofer.

Do you have stock speakers? The stock speakers are pretty weak, so you don't want to end up overpowering them with a subwoofer that's too loud

I have two 12" Pioneers with sealed box. Not custom but I guess I did the calculations correct from the sub specs and box specs with a Hifonics amp. I want to upgrade to the L7 12's Kickers with ported box but the pioneers will have to do...

I haven't tried the subs facing front, I was told and read they are better facing rear... No complaints so far but from the LAW...LMAO!!!!

I have 2 15" XXX subs powered by a kicker..um...well im not sure how big off the top of my head but in my opinion, they sound like crap when facing towards the trunk lid. way too much rattling for me :/ But to answer ur question on "best subs?" Kicker IS the way to go! Nothin compares! I think i might even replace my 2 15"s for my old 8" Kicker L5
