i only need to jack mine up a few inches to slide under. i just place my jack in the middle of the aluminum cradle. when i first got my monte, i had no idea where to place a jack on the sides. i put it on what look like a solid spot right in front of the fuel filter and crushed it in. i about pooped my pants. the fact i was just about lifting the whole side of the car at that point didn't help too. doesn't look like it really hurt anything though. lesson learned.

I use ramps to change my oil and I don't worry about getting every single last drop of oil out. Ramps give you all the room you need plus I feel they are safer.

well the points u used and bent on the sides are pinch welds, i have no idea how u bent them cuz i always use them or point #1 or a spot on the frame on my Z24 (even tho its unibody lik montes)

not sure what u did wrong but pinch welds are not the strongest make sure wen u jack it up u do it evenly and not to high

What I do is jack it up at the front DS point just enough for me to fit under and put my pan down, take off the plug, and let it off the jack so its level on the ground.
Not trying to be rude, but you really shouldn't get under a car supported by a jack. Ideally you're supposed to jack it up, put your jack stands under- then lower the car so the weight is supported by the stands. Even just having the stands under there isn't the best idea because they can be tipped over or not lined up perfectly if the jack does fail and drops the car's weight on them- plus they aren't really made for sustaining shock loads like that.

Also, if you're worried about getting as much old oil out as you can, you could always flush it with half a quart of fresh oil. The reason I don't usually worry too much about leaving a little old oil in the pan from the angle is because you're leaving a bunch of old oil in there anyways- practically the whole inside of the engine is coated in a thin layer of the old stuff anyways- so your fresh oil change isn't going to be 100% new oil anyways.

Yeah, i forgot to mention I put a stand right next to the jack. I know thats not the best either, but Im not to worried cause, I dont get under there enough for it to fall on me if it does happen to fall.
