Default No Temp Gauge & No AC

Ok, Has anyone ran into this problem before.. Every now and then my temp guage quits working and my AC. when it happens my fans run for about 2 mins afterward, which i am sure it is becuase the comp. cant tell how hot the car is... Now if i remove the postive cable for a min and put it back on, it works fine for a while.. THe only thing i can think it could be is a relay but i dont understand why it works after i remove the battery cable.. Any ideas. 2001 LS 3400

also when your there the sensor for the temp should be next to it i will change both and change the fluid. to make sure every thing gets topped and no gunk in there as well. to make sure every thing runs good after you change the thermostat

Lol, Thats why I am glad we have this forum. So that we can all learn and save some money. I actually tried to change the T-stat but was unable to get to it and when i put the battery cable back on it worked. I thought it was fixed. But then it happened again..

The thermostat housing has a slot on one of bolt holes so you don't have to remove both bolts..

Cool, i didnt know that. But my problem was i couldnt get the T-Body off. i believe there is a bolt on the bottom but i couldnt for the life of me get to it let alone find it. lol. I was going to take off the manifold crossover but i noticed the bolts were rusted bad so i decieded that it wouldnt be a good idea considering i didnt have any to replace them with.. Any ideas on what i could do to get it off easier

3400 thermostat is not as easy as the 3800 thermostat. You basically have to remove your throttle body to get the stupid housing off.
