Default Need a good cheap OBD II scanner?

Hopefully its 'OK' to post a link?

Amazon.com: Autel (MaxiScan MS309) OBD-II Code Reader / Scan Tool: Automotive Amazon.com: Autel (MaxiScan MS309) OBD-II Code Reader / Scan Tool: Automotive

I picked up one of these scanners and the thing works GREAT. Its a solid little machine that will read and erase codes and captures freeze frame data. Although I am not sure about the freeze frame data as I have not had mine read any.

But if you are looking for a nice cheap code reader this is an excellent alternative to the pricey ones in the store.

P.S. It does not read ABS codes however.

Certainly not a bad gadget to have around.

On the cheap, I like the Bluetooth ELM adapters off eBay. I think you can find them for the same price. There are apps for smart phones the can read and erase code for free and when you enter the "pay" apps for smart phones and computers, gives you some other functionality.

There are a lot more options out there these days for cheap code readers then their used to be (which is great for the home mechanic).

I have the bluetooth obdII adapter and $5 app on my phone, for around $25 you can't beat the functionality it offers.
