Funny when I ordered my accessory GM wheels they reused the same tire pressure sensors! They just unscrew and rebolt to the new wheel with no problem whatsoever. And the center caps DO NOT come with the new wheels they are extra. Mine costed well over $100 bucks just for the caps. Good luck with the new wheels...I feel for you.

Apparently the OEM wheels that were on the car from the factory, did not have the type of sensors & valve stems you had Cain45. They could use the sensors OK but, apparently the valve stems could not be re-used. Who knows its all BS to me. Maybe they changed from the 06, even the screwballs at the dealership thought maybe it was a factory error for a while.

Anyway, they got all the wheels switched today, but guess what; one of the sensors isn't working. Nowthey have to order a new sensor, break down the wheel again, install the new sensor, then re-program the whole system so the damnsensor knows where it's at. I could take it the way it is but the "Tire pressure monitor" light on the dash won't go out until the new sensor is installed. I told them to keep the thing til they could get it right. At least I've seen what it looks like with the new wheels on it. Pretty decent.

I also had a guy from Trimline install a black side moulding on the car. I was concerned that the black moulding being different from the car colour would look like crap. Not the case. The moulding if anything almost seems to take on the cars colour, and blends right in, especially with there being the black outside mirrors and black trim around the window frames.I like the look with the side moulding. It breaks up the bare slab of sheet metal and at the same time I dofeel a lot more comfortable that I will avoid the inevitableparking lot "Door Dings".

My door sill plates are on (They do look good - glad I went with them).
They added the chrome "Monte Carlo" namebadges (same as those on the trunk) to the rear quarters.
The trunk sized SS emblems have been added to the inside door panels.

Nice little personal touches. The guysat thedealershipseem to be pretty impressed, maybe they just want to makemefeel good, because of all the crap with the wheels.Iwill try to post pics of all this stuff next week and get your opinions; The true Monte Carlo enthusiasts - those that really count.

No offense but some of this sounds a little "ghetto" or overkill. I'd have to see it before saying anymore. Those 18" chrome wheels are nice, was going to get them for my LTZ but thought they'd look "out of place" not being on an SS. Good luck with the car man.

Did they just stick the SS badges on the door panels or are they recessed and inlayed? That sounds like it has the potential to be a cool mod.

The SS logos are just stuck on the door panel. I applied themto the "Hard" irregular shaped plastic section just above the armrests. Centered and level with the window sill. I had the small red SS logos on my 04 in the same place, but I think the new larger Chrome/White jobs from the 06/07 models look even better. It just dawned on me, but the chrome/white logos are an exact copy of those used on the old Camaro/Chevelle SS models. They look pretty cool I think, nice retro touch from GM.

Congrat's on the new Monte. Love the wheels. I'm looking forward to getting my 18's on this spring.
