Default Monte Carlo brakes

Hey guys new to the fourm, I was wondering the brakes used in a 2001 Monte Carlo ss 3.8l are also used in other vehicles, I would assume the grand prix since it was almost built on the same platform. I'm just curious cause I gotta get new brakes I'm quoted between 63-99$ pending what types I want. Now someone suggested that maybe I should try find matching brakes from a different car model to attempt to save money. I honestly don't think that is possible I figured if it cost 63-99 for rear brake pads for the Monte, any other vehicle using that exact pad would be the same price.

welcome to the site. If your having a shop do it that seems to be about the going rate. It's usually about 100 a wheel. If your doing it yourself it will be a little cheaper. I dont think you'll save any money by getting parts for a different make or model.
