Default Maximum MPG

I thought i'd start a topic for us all to share thoughts/ideas of how to get the absolute highest MPG's from our cars. I suppose this would mainly apply to those of us who use their monte as their DD like i do.

I'll start by sharing what i can think of right now.

Check your filters, clogged filters restrict fuel/air flow reducing mpg's

Check tire pressure, under inflated tires can ruin mpg, over inflated can actually increase it but pose other risks.

Unnecesary weight.

Feel free to share other ideas .

Clean throttle body,
Change fuel filter
Seafoam fuel rails, if u got more money then new fuel injectors
Seafoam intake manifold
Use iradium plugs ( monte carlo's)
Drive like a grandpa
Use cruise control more often
Get lower gear ratio
Shift under 3000 rpm
Install high flow air intake
Install high flow catalytic converter
Install new exhaust but dont lose back pressure
Tape up all open cracks, gaps
Clean all O2 sensors
Clean EGR valve
Have no evap leaks at all
Use hydrogen instead of air in tires
Use recommended octane fuel per car manufacturer
Put car in neutral when stopped or going down hill
Turn car off when stopped for longer than usual
Don't use the air conditioner in summer time
Tail gate semi trucks on highways (1-3 feet from his bumper) NOT RECOMMENDED NOR IS SAFE
Buy a hybrid car or convert yours to run on propane, hydrogen, electricity, water, vegetable oil, diesel, steam, solar power.
And finally put some vtec fluid in yo engine, vvvvvvvvttttttttttttteeeeeeeeeeeeccccccccccccc.... it'll make u fly.

habbibie thats quite the list. I sea foamed my car not too long after i got it, did some in the gas tank, some in the crank case and some through the brake booster. New air filter was changed aswell, but other wise i have done nothing of what you said... Some are more easily done like iradium spark plugs, i tend to not use a/c unless its really freakin hot. I struggle to get 25mpg from my car, i'm jealous of the 3800 owners getting 30 or more

Accelerate smoothly. Use cruise control whenever possible. Keane the mythbusters tested the AC vs windows down and AC had better mileage.

Covering the rear wheel wells will also gain you a mile or 2 per gallon.

Also, search online for an udp that someone is selling. You'll get a little better performance and maybe a couple mpg too.
