Default Major Issues...hopefully someone can help

Today my '06 MC flex stop running.

Recently, I've been having issues with the rear left turn signal and brake light. In addition, I'd occasionally see a service air bag indicator.

Now, I went to the gas station. Filled the car up. Once I went to start, it cranked, ran for two seconds then shut off. The gauges were completely dead. The display indicated all numerical digits as dashes (ex. AVG FUEL ECON ---- or TEMP ---). Also, my cluster lights wouldn't turn off. I then unhooked the battery. After dropping it back in, the car won't start. I hear all the relay clicks and get the cluster lights, head lights etc but no signs of cranking.

Can anyone point me in a general direction to get this car fixed? Any help would be appreciated!

Check your grounds and test the battery would be the first place I'd start... Check the PCM for codes also... Good luck.

I'll check the grounds. I metered my Duralast battery (11.7 V) and my yellow optima (11.9 V). Before I shut the car off, I didn't have any engine codes. I'll look into the grounds and the PCM thing. Thanks!

I have had 2006 Montes/Imalas' BCM go dead for no reason. First, check the battery. Second, do the door chimes or auto light works?

sounds like a low voltage issue to me...

Batterys should be at 12 volts or higher to as much as 14 volts...
Maybe try load testing the batterys...How old are they? There life time is right around 5 to 7 yrs if your lucky....

with haveing the Ultima battery..My guess is you have a sound system...which is also a hard drain on not only the batterys but the alternator as well!

You may have pulled to many volts from the system and started shutting down the computer pcm etc!...

Curious if you put a heavy duty alternator in it before you started useing that sound system...
Most standard alternators werent designed to keep up with a high voltage sound system!
let alone dual batterys!

Well, oddly, I did have an aftermarket sound system in a one point in time. I took everything out except for the radio. While trying to search high and low for any obvious physical wiring damage, I couldn't find anything. Thinking that it might have to go to the dealer, I took out my aftermarket radio. Car fired up like it never had a problem. So, I went over my wiring. Everything checked out...connected as it should be.

I'm guessing it was Scosche wiring harness (shorted out or something) that keeps the door chimes and all that stuff. I noticed that the simulated clicker stopped from that before I ran into the issue. Odd stuff!

Just saying what happened to my Sons Pontiac Aztek... DID the same thing, I figured it was the battery, So I put my battery in, cranked RIGHT up, ran for about 15-20 minutes and DEAD !!!!...Altimatly, ALTERNATOR was BAD....Charged his battery.... ALLS PERFECT... the only reason I say this is the instrument panel did the same thing.. went nuts showing all kinds of strange stuff...anyhow.. just a thought, may no have anything to do with it.... Hope it all works out... MJC...
