Keep Your Monte Carlo 4-Ever : )

The Monte will likely stay in our family until it dies. We bought it new. It's been treated well and has correspondingly treated us well. I don't see that changing. It's my wife's daily driver now, though my son may inherit it one day.
I love our Monte, but it will likely never be my daily driver. I'm too much of a motorcycle and old car buff. I'll probably always have a sporty old car of some kind for those days when riding isn't feasible. I consider myself lucky to get to drive the Monte occasionally as well.

I have 5 cars of my own. 1971 Monte Carlo, 1986 Caprice Classic, 1989 Caprice, 1993 Suburban, 2001 MC SS. As to whether I would sell or keep the 01 MC. If I get the right price I would sell. If not I will keep. Same goes with the other four. I just got my 71 MC on the road after 3 years. I ve owned it for 12 years. She still needs work and is very driveable but I do not want a garage queen. My wife of 32 years has her Astro van. She will drive it until the wheels fall off. Her words. As long as I can turn a wrench I will keep them all. Until death do us part. My words.

The only Monte Carlo that I owned that I don't have any longer ... my 1988 Monte Carlo LS.
The rest ... are lifers.
Well, for now. If I find the "right" 1989 Caprice Classic, my 1972 MC would be for sale.

I'm gonna keep mine as long as I can.. Yes the electrical system can get glitchy sometimes, and burned out blubs in the instrument and AC clusters are $$$ to fix, but I still love her. The main trend in the automotive industry is to have cars that have tiny windows and bad blind spots (2010-present Camaro, 2008-present Challenger, Chevy Volt) or are butt ugly (All of Acura's current lineup, Nissan Cube, Nissan Puke, Scion XB, some Lincolns, new Hyundai Sonata, Infiniti QX56, Ford Flex, Ford Edge, etc.) The European cars I leave out, since I can't afford most of them. The Monte Carlo is one of the few cars that appeals to me, and looks sexy with its clean flowing lines, and NASCAR heritage. I even think the Lumina Carlos (aka 5th Gens.) or the Impala Carlos (7th Gens.) look better than what they have today.

I have owned the same car for 5years. I put on 25k miles per year driving back and forth to and from work. This is the only car I have owned that has not left me stranded on the side of the road. I wont sell it but I will buy another one!
