I'm not really crazy about bras on cars anymore. I think from a style point of view, they've been done to death a long time ago.

Functionally, they're great. If you're going on a trip or you have to travel on gravel/dirt roads they really save the front end of your car from stone chips.

I don't want to crap on your parade RJ. Obviously people still like them since they still make and sell them.
Lou, I feel the same about bras on people. LOL

Good points. No different then the cowl scoop hoods for 4th gen Montes. They first came out I wanted one so bad. I loved them.

Now. EVERYONE + their brother has one on their 4th gen Monte.

Would I still own one? If I did it would be only to please myself.

You probably should have ordered Part number BC3306CF that is specifically for the 05 SS and that by default has the high sports appearance package.

I only like bras if I can take 'em off with one hand or they are on the floor.

That said, the blue Monte looks pretty decent with one. Still, not sure i'd use one, too worried about a stone getting behind it and wreaking all hell with the paint.

If you get a good quality bra and fit it correctly that's not a problem. I put one on my parent's Corisca several years back. Usually just went with the hood piece because removing and replacing the whole thing for rain/washings was a PITA. Almost always had the hood piece on and I did use the whole thing quite a bit, even at that when they sold the car some 6-7 years after you couldn't see any indications that there was a bra on the car except for the extra hardware that connected it to the vehicle. That one had VERY little space that you could squeeze a pebble through if you were trying to so one accidentally getting there by chance... almost nil.

I'm really thinking of getting one because I already see paint chips on the new paint job Silver got in Nov. And, I can use it for the Red car when I drive to shows - I just got that bumper painted too and I don't want to see any more rock chips.

I removed the main piece of the bra (on the car I think?) for the trip to MI last weekend.

I liked the look of the hood part by itself. So did several other people.

Funny story.
The weekend of 04/03 we were at a Frishes restuarant in Monroe, MI eating supper. As we were leaving a guy with a Furd T-shirt on caught us at the door. "Do you own that Monte Carlo out front?" I told him yes. He says, "I told my wife how rare your car is. That you don't see many of them." Sorry but I had to laugh a little at this after we got in the car. I think this man thought the car was older then it really is? That mybe he was thinking it was a 1st generation Monte with the Pace car package?
