It's Been a While: Monte/GTO Update
I haven't been on the forum for over a year and figured I'd give an update. It's weird seeing some of the people I've met and got to know on the forum have parted ways with their monte carlos. The monte has always been my dad's but I've been the one on the forum learning some good info and finding meets to go to around the St Louis area.
The monte is up to I think around 148k miles and is still running good. Unfortunately we hit something in the road this winter and knocked out a big chunk of the bumper. So if anybody hears of a yellow front bumper available, please let me know. The black nascar wheels just got remounted with new goodyear tires and painted the letters yellow. The pictures below are with the old goodyear eagle nascar tires with painted letters.
Last April I bought a 2004 Pontiac GTO and now I have a car of my own to play with so I kind of abandoned the forum.. Switching from a 3100 Buick Century to an LS1 was unbelievable. Somehow I have managed to stay ticket free. Knock on wood. I have done suspension work and spark plugs and wires so far. And kooks 1 7/8 longtubes with catted mids in my garage waiting to be put on. Car has 86k miles on it now.
Also, the Monte Carlo Forum is a much more friendly environment than ls1gto lol. Keep it up

Nice Looking Monte/GTO
Welcome back to the forum!
Next time don't stay away so long... lol
Even though I'm one of the new kids on the block...
Its always a pleasure to see members return to there roots ...
Surely us Monte owners are definately a one of a kind breed.
In my younger days.. I too was a fan of the GTO's.. I had a 64, 65, 66, 67.
Definitely still a fan of the newer style ones..Just a weeeee bit more compact..But still have that V-8 Power!

Welcome back. Great looking pics, sorry to hear about the bumper damages
Good looking GTO. I was always a fan of that model. I almost went looking for one instead of my Monte, but I had different goals at the time. I'm still happy as heck with my Monte

Thanks everybody! I'll try to keep on the forum better this time.
Maybe its because I've been stuck with it, but the 04 hood has kind of grown on me lol. I like the clean look. Last year I saw an 05/06 hood painted in pulse red for sale but I didn't have the funds at the time. Ill probably never see another one for sale so I'd have to get one painted. Maybe someday I'll get a banshee hood, those are pretty sick.
Thanks man, those black wheels and red calipers look nice. I always wanted to do the red calipers but never got around to it.
