Been A While, But I'm Back
Hello again to everyone.
I've been away for a while since rebuilding the top end of my '95 Monte Carlo Z34's engine. Been tied up with work, family, work, work, family.
Recently my one Son has bought a near mint '99 MC, and my other Son is close to buying a '71 MC. These MC's do grow on you.
So I'm sure you all will be hearing from me.

RE: Been A While, But I'm Back
welcome back to both of ya.
glad to hear that the kids will find and keep some montes also. they do become part of the family. i had a first gen and second and several 3rd. now i have a 6th. and i have tried and thought many times of selling it or trading it in on a truck but i cant bring my self to do it yet.
So once it is paid off i will get some small beater pick up if not before it so i can park the monte for a while and do some more motor work to it.
I want it to be a bit better then it is. and also still street abel.

RE: Been A While, But I'm Back
Welcome back guys. I would be VERY interested in seeing any pics you have of the top end work you did. I have an LQ1 myself and I always wanted to see inside them massive heads. If you did any performance mods I would be interested in hearing about them too.

Well, my Son had that mint 99MC about 2 weeks before he missed seeing a stop sign and T-Boned an SUV. Both airbags blew and tweaked the front end slightly. Nobody injured. He ended up having to drive it and overheated the engine. On top of that, I had a pinched nerve in my neck knock me down for awhile. Sheesh.
Anyways, enough complaining.
I'm back on my feet. The 3100's intake/head gaskets were gone (oil in coolant) from the overheating so I rebuilt the top end including having the heads freshened. Just got it done last week. Running great but I still have to get those pricey airbags replaced.
Now my other Son and I can continue assembling the '71's 350 that we were just starting.
What's the saying, "If you want to hear God laugh...tell him your plans".
