Hey, no kidding about cows... I almost hit one with the '50 Chevy truck we had about a year and a half ago. Damn thign was just running down the road.

I've never noticed these fenders denting easily. I've always thought these cars were quite structurally sound. Deer demolish about any car these days. It doesn't take much, the sheet metal on nearly any car is really thin these days. The added curves to our cars shoudl give them a lot of integrity compared to others cars from their time periods. That even goes back to the original 1970 models, back when cars had some metal to work with.

I'm glad your monte didn't sustain any damage. I have a lot of deer out where I live and I have been lucky not to encounter one.

My Mom hit one many years ago with her 1970 Caprice. Now that deer walked off with a serious headache.

I ran over one with my truck back in the spring. Its a good thing I'm lifted cause all it felt like was a big speed bump. I still hate it when that happens though.

I'm glad too that your Monte wasn't damaged! In the 5 years I've had mine, I have yet to hit anything.. My previous land barge- an '82 Olds 98, got hit by a deer, t-boned, and dented by dumbass drivers. The frame wasn't even that damaged, and as a result, the car was repaired, frame fixed, and the car got new paint. It even had the so-called "5-mph Bumper". If someone rear ended me, their car would be wrecked, and I would just get the tire iron out of the trunk, and pop my metal bumper back out. Boy, do I miss Body-on-Frame vehicles.. If any of this happened in my Monte, the front or rear end would act like an accordion, and the car might not be fixable.. Plus, I would have a freaking air bag in my face.

That's some good luck. My mom's Grand Cherokee got messed up when a deer ran into her.
