Intake gaskets are up there as well.

My least common thing I've came across and I've never seen anyone else do it was shatter a connecting rod on start up.... I've done it once somehow on my stock block and knock on wood my second block is doing very well.

i've got a good one...GM's notorious low coolant level switch...these things go bad ALL the time

Transmission and coolant elbows are the Monte's kryptonite

Least has got to be that bulletproof 3800 series engine!!

i put zzp's shift kit in both of my montes, which will mean less heat build-up...my 02ss, has the better upgraded coolant elbows...my 98z34, however is in for a major swap in the next months to come ...hoping for around 350whp when she's done

Cv axle failure doesnt seem too common. Mine have 266k miles on them and are tight as hell

Yea on my forth here as well 3rd on pass side one on the driver side but it's a relatively an easy and cheap fix

I would say at least the Monte Carlo people don't have to worry about weak spindles that trigger the ABS, SES, and SVC lights and the Passlock system tripping the "security" light all the time.

I used to have a Grand Am and those were the common problems on it, although my specific problems were the brakes that never got a firm pedal.
