Default Hood ornaments

Historically, I have been drawn to adding nostalgic, old model parts that will be only noticed if you look hard. I put a hood ornament on my '69 Nova SS from a 1938 Chevy and it looked like it belonged there. After searching around for a good fit, just found a hood ornament from a 1940 Chevy that seems to fit and look very right. Now I just have to bring myself to drill 2 holes in my Darlin'.... If my temporary insanity gets the best of me, I'll post a pic on the finished product. Has anyone done something similar?

I'd like to see how it looks if you put it in.

I saw a cadillac the other day and the owner had replaced the emblem hood ornament with a golden lion raising its paw. No idea what it was originally from but I like how he was mixing it up.
