Welcome to MCF Deffey!!! Yes you can get a good Monte in that price range. I would recommend getting any of them with the 3800 engine. Least amount of problems and very durable. It's not unheard of to get 250,000 off this engine and more.

The 02 Dale Earnhardt series will give you a bit of class and stand out more.

Actually to help you out a bit more, here is a quick search I did and some starting ideas for you.

Here is one, note the CAI in the engine pic, could have been beaten on.

I don't like that they don't show an engine pic in this one.

Here is one with the 3.4 and the typical Intake Gasket problem, low price and somewhat easy fix.

i'd think you wuld have a hard time finding a good 2000+ Monte for that range, but you might....a late 80's Monte with about 60-75,000 miles and garage kept wuld be a good find.it wouldn't eb far fatched to get a good 90's Monte for that price, a REALLY good one, low miles, well kept. the good thing about Monte's for a guy like you is that they depreciate kind of fast compared to other cars.. so you can get a good Monte cheaper than you could get a good comparable car.
