I have a 2005 LT monte carlo, car starts fine, pull off fine, now I drive about 3 - 4 miles and it seem as if the brakes are being aplided. I come to a red light and the car will not move as if I have my foot on the brakes. Now the engine begins to run hot so I pull over to let it cool down. After cooling down I pull off no problem but after 3 - 4 miles it starts all over again

...Hi & Welcome to the MonteCarloFamily.
Sorry to read that you are having problems with your Monte : (

To help our expert tech member's when they read your Thread it would help if you post:
-Your Miles ?
-Are your brakes original ? or have they been replaced ?
If so, how long ago...
Have you check your brake fluid...
Emergency Brake Cable ?

Please check back on your thread question/problem, and
I hope a member can help...Good Luck

Hmm, welcome.
I had somewhat this issue, except for the overheating part.
My brakes would seemed to be applied, then the rotor's would be blazing hot.
Turned out to be that the caliper was sticking. Replaced the caliper and changed the braking oil and it went away.
Hopefully someone with more experience can give you a bit more of help.
Good luck, and welcome.

Welcome! How many miles? I'm guessing a stuck caliper too.

Would a sticking caliper become so extreme as to overheat an engine?
The only thing i can think of it would force the engine to work harder because of it, but i doubt it would make it overheat.
