ok, i've had a 2005 monte before and it was a basic model, only upgrade was the rims and tires... anyways long story short i had to say goodbye to my baby but now im ready to get another one, im searching and i have my mind set on a supercharged monte, ive found a 2005 supercharged with 45,000miles on it, it looks real clean...then i found a 2003 ss pace edition from nascar with 38,000 miles...the pirce difference is about a grand...which is better engine wise??? does the pace car have different ups that i dont know about?? or is it jus the same ss engine??? plz help me thanks...

p.s. i am not a mechanic, so plz talk to me like a 22yr old whos not a mechanic!! haha thanks

 

The engines are both the 3.8 litre 3800 series II engine. But the 05 has a factory installed supercharger and heavy duty transmission. The supercharged is rated at 240 horsepower, and the non-supercharged is 200 horsepower.

The pacecars are a limited edition appearance package. Mechanically, they were the same as the SS model of the same year.

 

thanks Taz, I figured the pace car was the same as an ss but i just wanted to double check...

 

For a difference of a grand I would definitely get the 05 supercharged.
What's the price of the two?
