I heard about something this like happening on one of the grand prix forums. I can't remember which one. I passed by it in crusing when i was looking for answers on my 3100, and read that the 3800 had a couple problems with them catching fire. I suggest poking around in a grand prix forum too. Sorry i'm not much more help
