General consensus about gas in the winter...
I have heard and read on many sites that you should always keep your gas tank at least half full in the winter to avoid condensation inside the gas tank. Any truth to this? I know when its REALLY cold I like to have a full tank. Urban myth or fact?

I've always heard it to be true to keep water out of the lines. Personally mine never drop below 3/4 of a full tank. Just my preference but I believe it always keeps fresh gas in the tank.
It was a fact, but now is slipping away. Better design has helped that out quite a bit. I still recommend not going below 1/4 at any given time just to keep the fuel pump happy but the condensation issue has beeen dying since around the early to mid 80's.
i think thats just an old wives tail, i run mine down to empty every time because ifyou dont, and just keep filling it up when its half full or more, you get a bunch of crap sitting in the bottom of the tank that wont clean out till the next time you run it empty, then you'll have to change your fuel filter if you let too much stuff sit in the bottom.
Ohh and on the actual topic: "General consensus about gas in the winter... " I prefer it sometimes because it warms me up. I eat lots ofbeans to make sure I have plenty of gas.
