Thanks mrrench that's helpful. It's hard to tell because mine doesn't sit outside so it never gets frost on it to test it. I'll have to do this sometime though just to see it in action. Thanks again man I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for the great info!!! Must have skipped that in the owners manual. Yes mine does turn on the rear defroster. It is doing everthing corectly from what it is reading on the outside temp sensor, but here is the issue after more than 2 hours of sitting after I have been driving it, the sensor will read the under hood temp from the radiator/engine heat. So if I use the remote start within 6 hours of running the vehicle, it gets a false read from the sensor under the hood and blows cold air, due to it thinking it is 70 degrees out when it is only a 45 degree day.

Oh here is another,
Since the rear window defrosters come on...... If you have heated mirrors..... they come on too.... Just found that out tonight......

I took my car in yesterday for repairs and they fixed the remote start issue reguarding the ambient air temp sensor. There was a HVAC module update (firmware) to "correct a display issue with ambient outside temp". I just went out and checked it 3 hours later and it is still holding at 41 degrees for an outside temp reading.
