It's supposed to thunderstorm later this morning, so of course the drivers side window on my 03 MC won't roll up now. This happened once before and after trying to roll it up for a half hour the button finally worked again, but that was on a weekend and not while i was at work. Anyone have any ideas other than to keep fiddling with the switch as i pray that it goes up? is this a common problem and is it expensive to get fixed?

Thanks, I saw those from google, hopefully someone here has some advice too. I think its just the switch, or something related to the switch, as the window goes down fine no problem.

 

Had this problem on a couple old cars, but not our Monte. In each case, a new switch solved it.

 

Thanks. Are switches expensive? I took the actual black plastic cap off the switch to show the switch i assume underneath it. Thought maybe that'd help me push differently or harder to maybe get it to go up, but that didnt help so i put the cover back on the switch. Tried for 15 minutes that time and still no go. I'll give it another shot at lunch.

 

Found this one online for about $60. It includes both driver / passenger switches.

 

My window also has a mind of its own my temporary solution to you is to push the button while pulling the window up, the higher you get it hopefully the dryer your car is, unless the window is completely down inside the car

 

That is it! where did you find that at? are they hard to install?

and yes, the window is all the way down, i'm not even sure how to grab it or if pulling it up won't mess the motor or anything else up.
