Does your Monte do this?

Does your Monte do this?
So you're driving on the surface streets and you get up to say, 35mph and your tranny shifts and now your rpm is hovering at around 1k. You let off the gas cause you think the car in front of you is gonna start to slow down or something, and then when you put your foot back on the gas to sustain the speed and your rpm goes up a little bit to say 1500 and now you want to slightly accelerate so you barely push the pedal in, and instead of the rpm going up to match the pressure of the throttle, it drops back down to 1k. You don't lose any speed, but you also aren't acellerating like you want either, until you get in the pedal enough to downshift. This happens to me any given day and it just doesn't seem right. Maybe I just need to get used to the Monte and it's quirks. Has anyone noticed this?

this is goign to sound crazy to you but take your car out of drive and put it in 3rd gear and drive it for a short while see if it is still doing it. If not then try in 4th again.
I belive what your feeling per your description is the over drive. it is desinged to coast almost to help save gas ont eh car and when you try to give it more gas it will take it a bit to catch up and it will still pick up speed but not as fast unless you hit passing gear witch then what your forceing is a down shift to 3dr gear, there for it acts more like the ld trans. where the power was there as a more imediae feeling.
if this is the case then what your feeling might be the normal O/D and it is fine

The hypertech unit will fix that one. I've been able to adjust my trans pressure that has all but eliminated that feeling.
I need to do a little searching around to see if Hypertech has something for the 3.4L.. Otherwise your going to have to get the DHP software..

I guess I should start looking into the DHP software, this OD thing is kinda annoying. Now that I think of it, a manual tranny sure would be nice!
