Dirty feet/socks odor in 06 Monte Carlo LS
It definitely has something to do with the doors... The seal on the weatherstripping is bad, because when you roll the window down and then up while it's wet, the water does not come off. So water must be leaking into the door. Wouldn't that mean it would collect and rust out?
Either way, if I have the window rolled up, I can't smell anything, as soon as I roll the window down, it's like a musty feet/b.o. blast in the face. Of the people I've asked, most say they can smell something musty. 1 or 2 said they smelled nothing.
I was trying to look down the door through the weather seal with a flashlight, too much in the way, didn't see any foam. Not a fan of the idea of pulling the door panel, although I've done it on many older cars, I've always just pushed it back on with the bent/broken retainer clips.

Open your doors, on the bottom behind the weatherstrip there should be a couple small holes to drain water. Perhaps those are completely backed up. Try to clean them out, then run water down the windows to flush it.
i was going to mention this too. give it a try
I planned to try all these things today but, ironically, it rained all day and now I'm at work until midnight.
When I opened the door on my way to workI pushed the bottom weather stripping aside and water did come out so it is still partially draining. The water that came out was clear. Hopefully this means that its just stagnant and not rusting my doors from the inside out.
Can anyone point me to a replacement set of the outer belts w/ strip for these doors? The seal is visible weak, and I want to replace them while Im taking the door apart to check the extent of any damage.
