Default RE: Damn Steering shaft...................................Damn Steering shaft

I looked at how to do it and watched the mechanic, if this problem acts up on me again i will not be paying for someone to do it. Its really not that hard.
But when i took that car up there to get it done they service advisor told me that gm had came out with a new steering shaft to fix this problem. i asked him to see it before they put it on my car, to compare it to the old one. the only damn difference i saw was that one was shiny (new one) and the other one had a buch of grease streaks on it (old one). Now i did tell them to put this new "and better steering shaft from gm" on the car but i had him and his manager sign and say that if the problem returns before 65,000 miles they would fix itg again. I have 52,700 on the car now.
I have had servicee shops sign off on a personal warranty before and a lot of the times if you argue with them enough without yelling or causing a scene they will normally do that for you. so to any of you going to get something like this fixed its worth a shot.
