Default damn governor/speed limiter!!!

98 z34 monte carlo, i like to drive fast and yes faster than 105 iv held and beatin many races but once i hit 105 i shutdown and i really want to get rid of the governor or speedlimiter whatever the hell you call it how can i? how much does it cost and can i do it myself? thanks!

you have to get a programmer and change it via the ecu, best bet is to take it somwhere and have it completely tuned, i.e., have shift points changed, fuel ration optimized, governor removed, etc.

yah reprogamming the pcm is the only way to do it...if u want to do it yourself go with either a dhp or hp powertuner...they r the best but will run over $400

the handhelds are crap... they do very little but cost you money. if you got a laptop, get the programs kweef mentioned. luckily, where I live there is a dyno shop with the programs to tune these cars about 40 miles south of me. for $350 i got my car tuned up

I was going to recommend just running down to ZZP cause they can do it on the cheap, but considering you live in Cali it would be WAY too much unless you come over for the Monte get together.
