Taz has some great points. I've been driving 2 door cars most of my life and they simply take up more room to open the door to get in an out then a 4 door (such as I owned a 4 door Grand Am and I currently have a 2 door of the same body type/generation). I get annoyed when someone parks so close a 4 door own would barely slide in/out but a 2 door owner has no hope (so I try to pay close attention to that when I park).
Years ago, when I had my 4 door Grand Am, my friends and I went to the movie theater. Some clown parked a BMW roadster, diagonally across two parking spots in MAIN parking (if he parked out a ways, where no one parks, it would not have been an issue). I did not hesitate one bit, because he was in the main parking area thinking no one would park next to him, I did it. I was tempted to park so my passenger side door was tight against one of his doors (but I felt that would be going too far and I did not want my car keyed for being a bigger jerk). So I parked with acceptable distance between us (but enough to show, just because he'll park like that in main parking does not secure him safety of company).

This is a weird situation. A black, older car in the southeastern sun with no tints? Keeping up the paint and top must be a pain. A garage keeper it seems, strange they would park it so carelessly.
