I have a 2001 Monte Carlo ss car won't start.i put a new battery in it and had the alternator tested everything is good.shut the car off getting no clicking or anything.have lights but getting nothing else.not sure if the starter is bad

 

It's not your year, but I have a 95 5th gen that just had the same problem after I grounded my battery accidentally. Here's the thread to my post looking for help, but in the end, I went with a switch panel to the starter because it was the theft deterrent module and could never figure it out. There might be some good tips for you though in the thread.
