car wont start
#3
if the car was running for 20 mins and nothing happened when you tried to start it again i would suspect the alternator, it should of charged the battery within that time

If the alternator is showing an output of 14 volts at the battery then it is ok. I would suspect a loose/dirty connection at the battery itself, or the ground cable where it bolts to the stud on the transaxle. If they are all clean and tight then I would check the battery for a bad cell. Something else to consider is you cannot charge a battery to full capacity from the alternator. It needs to be put on a battery charger. The alternator will put a 'surface charge' on the battery, but that does not indicate the true voltage or amperage of the battery. The vehicle will start a few times with the surface charge, but after sitting for a while it won't start.
