My '04 Monte LS is equipped with a nearly completely useless "Overhead Storage Compartment" that has the inconvenient automatic purge, ejection and evacuation of contents feature that I find enormously aggravating and annoying.

Instead of putting anything up in there; you might as well just throw it down on the floor.

I want to make this space either;
Go away and not leave anything behind, ...
-or-
Get filled with the OEM Driver Information Center, ...
-or-
A Novelty Device of some kind that will be amusing.

What are my options?
And don't forget, ...

I wonder if the wire harness is already up there for the D.I.C.? If it is, I would get a price on it from the junk yards. If it's in your price range, go for it.

Other wise, go for the inflatable novelty device of your choice. :p

 

Personally, I'd put oxygen masks in there. then yell "Oh God!!", and push it against your face when they fall out. This is best done when taking a colleague to lunch.

does anyone know if there is the wiring harness already in there? seems like something cheap to do if its already in there and not too hard to do even if it isnt, depending on the harness price i guess
