Default Can anyone identify what part this is?

Shortly after getting my car, I noticed this crack and can sometimes hear it making noise while driving. I thought this was the motor mount, but, when I looked up Monte Carlo motor mounts, they look nothing like this. Only this side is cracked, the other side is fine so I am not too worried about it but still want to get it replaced sometime soon. It's on the top left hand side of the engine bay next to the distributor. Looks like it could be an easy do it myself repair if I knew what the part was! Sorry for all the newb questions, I am quite helpless with these newer cars.

That is an engine strut bracket. You might find one in a wrecking yard. If not, look in your area for someone nearby parting a 00-05 Monte. If all else fails you'll need to check the dealership.

They commonly break on the L36 cars. If you can get one from a supercharged L67 and swap your coils over, they are much stronger.

Thank you! Will go hunting around for one over the weekend.
