Default Brights always on?

Hi im trying to fix an issue im having with my headlights.
The passenger side connector was corroded so i got one from the junk yard and spliced it and now i have no drl and the high beam symbol is always on. The driver side drl work fine and when i actually switch on the brights the passenger side will have both the drl and high beam on..

any ideas on how to fix this?

Did these problems begin after you changes the socket? Or did they begin after testing that you changed the socket? I've had Grand Am multi-function wands/switches fail and get goofy. Heck, on my Monte and my wife's Impala, we can't turn on the high beams because that assembly is messed up.

I've had that part cause the headlights not to come on or problems with the high beams (such as you get the high beams on, but now you can't turn them off).

You may want to look there.

Well I didn't have this problem before I changed to socket.
I had to change the socket because the headlight had a crack in it which let water in and corroded the old socket

Check your fuses. If they are all good try reversing the wires on the plug you replaced.

There are 2 wires connected to the socket - 1 on the left & 1 on the right as you look at it. Take the wire you have connected to the left and connect it to the right. Then connect the wire that was on the right to the left side of the socket. Before you do that though double check ALL your light fuses (low beam left & right/high beam left & right) first. They are located in the upper fuse panel underhood on the passenger side. I've seen a blown low beam fuse do funny things to the DRL and high beam lighting before.
