Typical....I know the sales man that sold me my Monte didnt know crap about the car, I knew more...I asked questions that I already knew the answers to and he would give me the wrong answers...For example, I knew that they changed the engine 06, and a I knew that being a 1LT my car had the 3.5L, so I asked what size engine is it...he responded a good old 3.8L, they have been around forever, its a great engine trust me ...hmmm trust you buddy, I don't think so, you just failed the test! lol

Yeah I did, and he tried to tell me I was wrong, So I popped the hood, and there was that nice big 3500 V6 written across the engine cover....He just said, oh, well the 3.8L is still an option...bullS*it.....

 

I know a lot about the 00-05 Montes and I had the same experience at a Saturn dealership. My fiance and I went in and played "dumb". We asked if they had any used 2 door coupes with a v6 in stock. The friggin Monte was parked right in front of the dealership and they had no idea they had it! So the sales guy pulls it in the service bay so we could look at it. And then he was giving us some BS about this is a very special car and brand new they cost close to 40k. At that point I couldn't go on and called him on his lie! No Chevy car that wasn't a Vette never cost that much, even loaded with every option. I was so insulted that we walked out, after telling the guy all the things wrong with the Monte and he wouldn't budge on the price of $15000. I really wanted to go back there with Silver and show him what I got for 10k HA!

 

Good for you, Amy!!! I really hate BS sales people. I sold cars for a little bit. First job when I moved to Las Vegas. It really bothered me how some people conduct themselves. I found that I did much better being real with the customers than trying to bamboozle them.

SSGirl, can't wait to find out if that is an SLP exhaust you have there. I am excited for you. Finally see someone else with the AVS tail light covers. I had mine for a year still sitting in the packaging before i decided to do something with them. I cut out the slats and painted to match body color. But, that is a topic for a different thread. Don't want to hijack this one.

 

That dealer shot of the TS Monte the exhaust tips look just like those on our '03 Pace car.

Just brought that up cause none of the '03 Montes were supercharged. (not that I wouldn't be willing to add one in the event one came available)

 

So RJ, your 03 pace car has the SLP exhaust too?
