Apparently I'm losing MPGs...

My 2004 Dale Jr only averages around 23mpg and that is with a full tune up. I took it on a long trip out of state this September and I only averaged 25mpg driving on the interstate. This is also on new tires with correct tire pressures. I also always run premium in it.
I know the 98 GP GT we used to have years ago averaged around 29mpg on the highway.
I guess this supercharged engine is just thirstier.
