ORIGINAL: Mrrench

Mine is the only Laser Blue in the area. Matter a fact we dont see to many new Monte's around here (thats a shame too) Its a great car.
I hear ya... I have the only one around in my area as well... I haven't seen any other new monte's on the road either... pretty cool to have the only one, but it also means I can't hide anywhere - everyone knows it's me!

Before I bought my LTZ another dealer was trying to sell me a 2LT Monte.

We drove the 50 miles to the dealer to look it over but the car just didn't do anything for me.

On the way home we decided to stop at a Chevy dealer we go to every june. They host a free cruise in at their dealership. They had a blue SS setting right out in the front of their dealership. COOL... Monte. ButI didn't think I could afford the $28,000 price tag?

I guess since the auto show is starting we will have to wait and see what the 08-09 Impala is going to look like......
HATS OFF TO NASCAR FOR FORCING THE HAND OF CHEVY TO STOP MAKING THE MONTES.....
THEY WANTED ALL CARS ON THE SAME PLAYING GROUNDS......
09 ALL OF THEM WILL BE 4 DOORS......
THAT SUCKS.....

Did this actually happen? I don't know? That's why I'm asking.

Yes Chevy is going to the Impala, they are phasing it in starting this year at Bristol. The car is part of the Car Of Tomorrow (COT as Nascar calls it). By the end of 2008 the Monte will run its last nascar race again. Will it be back, dont know....
If you look at
Ford runs a 4 door
Dodge runs a 4 door
Toyato runs a 4 door
Chevy has a 2 door...... more Aerodynmatic then any of the above cars. MONTE CARLO HAS THE MOST WINS IN NASCAR.... and that was taking a 6 year break when Chevy stopped Making it in the late 80's.

Anyway I still love my Monte..... it is going back into the shop Monday to get the reomotes looked yet again..... Will update everyone on what is going on.

Monday morning is around the corner.
Will be taking the LTZ back to the dealer.
Wife and daughter just got back this evening from NY.
They said that the rf tire sensor is acting up now. So that goes hand in hand with the remote problem.

THIS IS THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH MY CAR.....
DEALERSHIP ON THE OTHER HAND...... I DONT TRUST BUT HEY ITS UNDER WARRANTY AND DOES NOT COST ME A TIME FOR THE NEXT 7 YEARS, 70,000 MILES.....
I WISH THE MECHANIC WOULD HAVE CHECKED THE ENGING OIL AFTER HE SERVICED THE CAR....
3.9L ONLY TAKES 4 QUARTS.... ITS ALMOST A QUART OVER.......

Well let everyone know the out come.....

Ok guys here is the update.....

They took the A piler cover off, removed the ground wire that is only pushed on. Cleaned the paint off the piler, pushed the ground part of the antenna back on and ran a screw through for a better ground. Doing that has increased the ranage by more then double. This in not however the fix to the problem, it will help. They also installed the updated software and reprogramed the RKE and TPM.
They replaced fobs, rcdlr's and are still getting the same problems with them. So here is what GM said in the fix for it:

A new coax antenna has been developed for the Impala and Monte Carlo. The new antenna and the Technical SeviceBullentin (TSB) for all the Romote Keyless Entry (RKE) and Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) concerns will be available in January 2007. DO NO ATTEMPT ANY FURTHER REPAIRS FOR ANY RKE OR TPM concerns on t he 2006-2007 Impala or Monte Carlo until the TSB is released.

Now I am on a waiting list for the new antenna.

I wonder how much a problem this is with the '06 Montes?

So far everything's A-okay with my car but I've barely put 600 miles on it to date.

Wonder if I drove it more, would an issue like your's pop up?
