Angry Alright...so next weekend it might not begin...

2006 Monte SS

I get in the car yesterday, make a right turn while braking into the parking garage.

Lights and bells start going off like crazy. I get "Service Traction Control" and "Service Brake Assist" lights.

I took it to the local Goodyear and they checked it out and said its probably a rock that got stuck in there or something.

Now, however, if I accelerate out of a sharp right turn (like normal driving...) my traction clicks in an I lose power and hear a nasty sounding noise from the wheels. Also, my Service Brake Assist light pops on when I start the car on.

AAaaannnndddd....unrelating.

I've heard a slight whine (that gets a little louder when I click on the A/C and/or turn) from the motor for a while, I didn't think much of it until today when I popped the hood at the gas station. I peered down towards the drive belt and near the bottom, one of the pulleys had a slight wobble. I've tried to find a diagram to figure out what is was but couldn't; it was rustish in color (though I don't think it was rusted) and kind of brownish.

Just bought the damn car (my DREAM car!) and its having issues 6 weeks later.

Weird. Do you have any kind of warranty? I'd just take it in.

Check all the connections to the wheel hubs, this is common for the 6th gens, maybe it's going to start on the 7th gens.

Since it happened while turning right, I would suspect the hub on the front driver's side first.

Since, its happened turning both ways.

I'm not car savy at all. I like to work on them, but I totally suck at it. This car is a $18,000 learning experience for me.

What kind of connections are you talking about?

Thanks!!

There are wheel hubs on each wheel, if you took your wheels off, then your rotors off, that would be the wheel hub. Each hub has sensors and connections. These wires might be going bad / be dirty / etc.

i ended up replacing my drivers side hub at 30k and i wish that i replaced both at the same time now when i turn right it makes the same noise but i am not complaning much i have all of the sensors for traction controll but no switch and that said. you may need to replace the right and left to prevent any abnormal wear

to replace them yourself, not much money at all, maybe $100-$150 for both.

Through a dealer, it will be a bunch of money
