Default Lost my belt tensioner pulley.

Ok quick story. So the last few days one of my pullies had been making some noise. Nothing too loud or anything, just squeaking. I looked at it at work this morning and noticed the sound was coming from the serpentine belt tensioner. So ok, it needs a new tensioner pulley and a belt, no big deal ill do it over the weekend. Well tonight on my way back from my real estate agent's office, driving down the highway and I hear a thunk and I run something over and my power steering goes out. I figure maybe my belt broke or the tensioner let go and the belt fell out. I pull over and call my boss for a tow. I checked under the hood to see if I was right. No, the tensioner pulley actually busted off the tensioner, flew out the bottom of my car and I ran it over, lol. My belt is still in place and looped around all the accessories, just the tensioner pulley is gone. Well thats my fun story for the day. I had it towed to work and Ill fix it tomorrow evening.

You gotta laugh about it. It wasnt anything serious and it was kinda funny in the manner that it happened. It should be a cheap fix too (hopefully).

It seems like this happened to someone on this forum a few months ago... must be a common problem.

Hahaha! That is kinda funny, the fact that the part actually broke off, and then you ran it over, that made me chuckle.

I hope the repairs go well, and cheap for you though!

Well I got it done after work. 30 minutes and 38 bucks. Not too bad. I did check and everything else seemed ok. The belt I took off was pretty bad. Im sure it was the one that came on the car from the factory.

Yep that happened on me on my 98 years ago. I was doing 70 on the highway and it thunked around in the engine bay and then went bouncing down the road. Lost power steering and the belt slapped the coolant hose off so when i finally pulled into a gas station, she peed herself.
