Hi Gang,

Just picked up an 03 SS and the interior is perfect, except for the driver's seat. I've been looking around for a good used one and I am not having much luck. Has anyone ever recovered theirs and repadded it? Do these seats come around often?

What are my best options? It is leather, no airbag, heated, electric/mechanical and ebony black.

Its a fairly normal thing for upholstery shops. They can strip the seat cover off, seam rip the stitches out from the back side, use the individual pieces as templates to trace onto the new material, cut out the new material, and re-sew the new pieces together to make a new cover. Might even be able to reuse some stock pieces if they're still in good shape (seat back pocket, headrest, etc). A good shop can make it identical to factory.

The only concern doing that is the single seat. Depending on how aged the passenger side is and how much sun got to it, you may not be able to get a perfect material match (only because brand new material will never exactly match 20 year old material.

I'd strongly suggest at least getting them to re-foam the bottom while its all apart.
