Default 2003 Monte Carlo SS pace car edition engine needs replaced and lots of rust

Needing options or opinions on whether to restore or sell or scrap the last one I'd much rather stay away from as a choice though, used to have the authentication certificate for the car when I bought it, still in ok shape drove it last spring any ideas

?

Really don't have anything to work with. Pics look decent but you say the engine needs replaced and it has lots of rust.
1. - What is wrong that makes you believe the engine needs replaced?
2. - Where is the rust, how bad?

I know if you scrap it, there is usually interest in some of the goodies from the pace car. But obviously fixing or selling whole are the easier options.

I agree, we really can't make any suggestions without a lot more info.

-details on the rust? Are we talking light surface rust or the strut towers are about to blow through? This is the big one as it would never make sense to fix a rusted through unibody - especially when practically brand new 6th gens sell for only $20k.

If the rust is as bad as you say, that kinda takes selling it whole off the table (unless just for scrap / parts). You can't really sell a car to someone to drive if its totally shot.

-mileage on car? Clean history?

-for the engine, can you do any work yourself or will you need to hire it all out? The upside is 3800s are super cheap. You could be back up and running under $1k if you're able to do the work yourself - the engines are a dime a dozen in the junkyard.
