2001 Monte SS Traction COntrol issue
Greetings,
Pretty much every time I pull away from a stoplight, my traction control steps in and slows me down. THe thing is, I am not spinning my tires at all so there would be no reason for this.
Any ideas why it might be doing this? I suspect the speed sensors are out of whack or busted up. If that's the case, where are these speed sensors located?
Thanks,
Shandley

The speed sensors are in the hub assembly. Do you have the ABS light constantly lit as well after this happens?
That will give you the code to read, but a standard ODB2 code reader can't read those.

I have the currently have the same issue with my 2001 ss.... sounds like these guys are dead on because I know my hub is bad (as I can hear the bearing starting to roar as i drive now) .... I picked up a new one today and plan on installing tomorrow... i'll post results tomorrow night when i'm done
Could this make the Traction light in the dash illuminate and another light that reads: Check Traction Control.
Yeah I had the same issue when I had my 03 Monte. The sensors are in the wheel hub assembly. Mine went bad in the passenger rear hub assembly. The ABS light would randomly come on for a few minutes, then go off and disengage the traction control system altogether. Would usually do this every time I drove the car. Dealer replaced the wheel hub assembly.
