Have a 2001 Monte with non-operational sunroof. Motor appears to be operable. When assembled, and activated, the motor sounds to click or slip. The splines on the armiture seem fine as do the external splines. there is a part that the motor fits into, I believe (SWITCH. Sun Roof Control. 12459083). Is it common for the female splines to strip? It is difficult to see their condition. Do I need to remove the entire sunroof assembly to replace that switch or is there a secret to its removal?
