Default 200,000 or Bust!

I bought my '03 Monte new for the wife. She drove it for five years and then we passed it down to my oldest daughter for two years. After she was done abusing it, the youngest daughter thrashed on it for two years. It was well beaten when I decided to park it two years ago with 197,171 miles on it. I recently had reason to take it out of retirement and I had to put a fair amount of work in it to make it road worthy again.

It's all mine now and no women drivers so I'm fairly confident it's going to see that 200k mile mark.........LOL.

Cool man. You made it sooner than me. I bought my 02' Monte new and just hit 200k a couple months ago. Check out this e-bay 03' Monte that just sold on 12/26/14. It's over 300k. Good luck on your 03'! Keep it going to 300,000 miles!

I would say that's quite an accomplishment thus far...
Its good to know that it not only has made it thru 3 im sure lovely women in your household..But now you get to enjoy it all over again... along with the knowledge of knowing your intent is to hit the 200k mark and im sure want to supercede that marker.?

Mine is a 15 yr old Monte...It currently has 170+K on it currently...
I too am looking forward to the day I supercede that marker as well...
Considering also...
I am the original owner.

Congrats on meeting your Marker of 200k and keep us posted!

Yes, it is still on the original engine and trans with little problems from either. A couple of filter and fluid changes for the trans and I had to change the intake gaskets at 134k miles. The engine started using oil at 50k miles but other than that, it's a flawless work horse.
Oh, and the rims are American Racing wheels that I bought for the car in the first week I bought the car from the dealer. I liked that they resembled the five spoke Corvette wheels.

Thanks. Although I picked the car out and I was the one to put the wheels and window tint on the car, it never felt like my car............until now. And now that it is all mine, I absolutely love it! My wife liked the car when it was hers but the girls just drove it. Their Friends all called it a hoopty ride.....lol.

You will get 200K easily and it will keep going after that! My 06 had 238K when I traded it, needed a head gasket...i'm sure it's good for more miles to come once it gets the repairs it needs. Good Luck man!
