1995 Mone Carlo - no start
#3
It sounds like the vehicle anti theft system acting up. This is common on 95-99 MC's. Check out this website, it tells you what you need to do - unless you want a new ignition switch and keys. http://vats.likeabigdog.com

True - it could also be the security system. If that's the problem, turning the key to start the car will do NOTHING, but after waiting for 2 or 3 minutes, the car will start right up like normal. What's happening is the computer doesn't recognize the key and temporarily shuts down the starter. You can buy a plug in harness to bypass the system from a number of places - Eckler's, Adaptive Performance, e-bay, etc. Cost is $20-$30. You need to know the resistance of your key, however. If your car does not start after a couple of minutes, then you have some other problem.
