1995 Mone Carlo - no start

Default 1995 Mone Carlo - no start

No start, no turn over, dash light and buzz first try, then no dash light or buzz second try but still have head light and dome light. Done many things, please help

Could just be the battery. If it's low on power or has a bad cell in it, it can cause your car to act "weird". I would take the battery somewhere and have it tested. Most parts stores will test it for free.

It sounds like the vehicle anti theft system acting up. This is common on 95-99 MC's. Check out this website, it tells you what you need to do - unless you want a new ignition switch and keys. http://vats.likeabigdog.com

True - it could also be the security system. If that's the problem, turning the key to start the car will do NOTHING, but after waiting for 2 or 3 minutes, the car will start right up like normal. What's happening is the computer doesn't recognize the key and temporarily shuts down the starter. You can buy a plug in harness to bypass the system from a number of places - Eckler's, Adaptive Performance, e-bay, etc. Cost is $20-$30. You need to know the resistance of your key, however. If your car does not start after a couple of minutes, then you have some other problem.
