Default 1987 Monte SS ?

Today I checked out a 1987 Monte SS plum color T-tops. body is ok paint needs to be brought back to life minimal rust. starts right up but idle is a little eratic may need tune-up trans goes right into gear. But there seems to be a loud rattle coming from the flexplate inspection cover "supposedly" the flywheel is cracked but wouldn't it be a loud knock ? Interior seas are faded driver's seat is ripped sunvisors are a mess does not SEEM to leak no mildew smell or grimey steering wheel. Tires are ok, A/C compressor is seized 150k
If I decide to purchase how much should it be ? But the loud rattle worries me what could it be ??

All the work you say it needs, that price range is being generous.

Hi `Mike,
It's difficult to give a price without being able to
really check `out this Monte.
Are you mechanically inclined ?
Do you have tools & a shop 2 work on `it ?
Do you plan on restoring it, or is it going 2 be a
dailey driver ?
Do you want 2 keep it stock ? or drop a 350 Crate in2 it ?
Pictures would be nice to give us a better judgement.
I suggest `if U really R interested in this Monte
to start your bid `low...like $500
U never know, until U try : )
Good Luck & let `us know what you decide..`ok

p.s. I luv 4th Gen Monte's & have looked @ a lot of them.
This one seems like it needs a lot of luve

tell him 1300 and you'll pay CASH on the spot. take it or leave it. people like to see the green and sometimes will take less if they don't have to worry about a check to clear. if he says no, then say ok and walk away. he might change his mind before you walk out the door or give you a call later. if he's not willing to deal, then he doesn't wanna sell it that bad. move on and find another car.
