Coming up is the 21st annual Lane Automotive Cruise-in and Car Show. Memorial day weekend, Friday and Saturday May 22 & 23. This is THE largest "anything goes" car show in these parts of the country. Last year they SAY they had 1,000 cars, but I know for a fact they registered something like 1,140, and not everyone registers. So there were an estimated 1,200 cars there last year. ALL kind of cars, but predominently American hot rods, street rods, classics, and drag cars. A few tuners, but not many.

The West Michigan Camaro Club and the West Michigan Grand Prix club both turn out in force.



We will have 2 cars there, and RJ is driving in from Ohio.

I'm hoping we can get some other Monte Carlo owners to drive in at least for the day on Saturday, to get a good gathering of Montes. There's ALWAYS a few, but this is a GREAT show.





No arts and crafts, just cars. No trophies, but free t-shirts, dash plaques, and lots of other stuff. Door prizes, also. Last years 1st place prize was a set of Centerline wheels.

They also have a dyno shoot-out, and last years winner was a MONTE CARLO! Michael Roy's1971 Monte Carlo - 1128 HP!


Put me to shame! And this is a conservative dyno, with about 30% parasitic loss, I'm told. But for $30 to charity, who cares!


So how about it MCF Family, can I get you to drive a few hours for one of THE best shows around? I'm hoping we can meet up and go in as a group. Let's get organized.

that looks like one HELLUVA car show. i wish i could go! of course, i'll be working that weekend. as usual. i fully expect to see tons of pictures.

RJ - are you taking a semi with 6 of your cars???
